Connections is the magazine of the Mission Commission of the World Evangelical Alliance. With 48 pages of ‘must ‘read information for persons who are interested or engaged in world missions today. Connections is published in April, July and October of each year. Each edition has a specific theme. Professionals from around the globe are contributing articles connected to the theme. Connections consist also about the reports of the various committees of the Mission Commission.
For whom?
For anyone who is involved in world missions today. Apart from the various actual theme’s and developments around the world Connections will also provide the various perspectives related to the theme’s. In fact: a ‘must’ read magazine for missionaries, home front committees, churches, mission agencies and bible- and training schools / universities. However, also individual Christians with a heart for world missions today will enjoy reading Connections.
What is WEA-MC?
The Mission Commission is the mission unit of the World Evangelical Alliance, the world-wide umbrella organization for national Evangelical Alliances. The Mission Commission represents national and international organizations and churches who participate from time to time in various working groups and networks of the Mission Commission. It is truly a global network of over 220 mission leaders from around 80 countries and serves the Evangelical missional community by
- Creating a missional arena that facilitates and encourages mutual learning, networking and cooperation;
- Providing a consultative and self-evaluative function for mission movements and networks, international agencies and missionary training centres;
- Managing an “issues driven process” that is intentional, leading to specified outcomes;
- Facilitating the flow of resources between people, movements and nations (financial, human, bibliographical, & other) through a well defined system & process;
- Facilitating the flow of financial, human, bibliographical, & other missional resources;
- Providing a prophetic and proactive voice into the worldwide church in relation to theology, missiology and mission practice, through strategic consultations, training seminars, publications and other initiatives.
